This is a faux fur jacket created to resemble smoke.
To express the texture of rising smoke, numerous gathers are used to create partial bulges and construct three-dimensional movement.
The swaying and volume of the long fur give a sense of fluidity even when still. It captures the formless smoke as fabric.
The bulges created by the gathers evoke eddies and stagnation of air.
By embodying what should be intangible as a physical mass, the background presence emerges into the foreground.
