The frame is injection molded in Sabae, Japan, and the folding style is achieved with high precision. A special case with the logo is included.
The lenses are photochromic lenses made by Nikon-Essilor, a joint venture between Essilor International, France's largest eyewear company, and Nikon, Japan's world-renowned lens manufacturer.
These are special photochromic lenses that react to light (ultraviolet and visible light) and were researched and developed by Transitions Optical.
Photochromic lenses are lenses that automatically adjust to light; when exposed to ultraviolet rays such as sunlight, the lens color darkens and then returns to clear as the ultraviolet rays weaken.
Previously available photochromic lenses typically changed color in response to ultraviolet light, but the lenses we have developed now also react to visible light, changing to a darker tone even inside a car that blocks UV rays.
It is effective in blocking blue light even when used indoors as a transparent screen.
