The melancholic scene of a gigantic American flag being blackened and wet from a sudden rainstorm, seen through the window of an exhibition venue in New York in July 2011, was the most important factor that triggered the evocation of the "feeling of melancholy that cannot be avoided as the sun sets and the cold of the winter mountains hits you" that is expressed throughout this collection.
