This design was inspired by the idea that a pea coat, which is usually perceived as being short among coats, could become a long coat if it were oversized. When oversized, the thick melton usually used in pea coats becomes very heavy, so we bonded fleece to soft and supple medium-weight melton to create a fleshy feel, making it lighter to wear than it looks.
An original size anchor button has been added to match the increased magnification, and when viewed in product photos, the optical illusion creates the impression that it is a normal sized pea coat.
