Tanned shrink leather is used at the toe and deerskin around the opening, making the shoes soft and comfortable to wear.
The wings are made from recycled cowhide.
We have created a new wooden shoe last with a raised toe area.
The cute thing about these shoes is that the opening looks closed,
The legs are inserted so as not to kill the characteristics,
I repeatedly revised the pattern while searching for points that looked cramped.
Actual fabric is stretchy, but leather is not, so you need to make sure the opening is long enough for your feet to fall down properly.
However, if the opening was too long it would take away from the good aspects of the shoe's design, so we were conscious of creating a pattern that struck a balance between function and design.
