The material used is nylon oxford, which is widely used as a solid color bag material, but which has been difficult to print accurately due to its uneven surface. Japanese craftsmen, who have world-class printing technology, have made it possible to express the intricate lattice pattern and vivid colors unique to MARNI on nylon oxford material.
In addition, Yoshida & Co. applies a colorless, transparent acrylic coating called "fray prevention" to the back of all of its fabrics, but this time the acrylic has been colored to create a design that deliberately looks like a lining.
