CONVERSE "ROYAL STAR"
A leather collection that reinterprets masterpieces from Converse's long history, incorporating a contemporary sensibility. Supervised by designer Toshinosuke Takegahara, the collection pursues minimalist design and meticulous craftsmanship.

Converse's archives hold a history of consistently supporting street culture and sporting highlights from the ground up, and the heritage models that continue to this day are steeped in those memories and identities. To reaffirm that background and significance, I felt it was necessary to visualize their inherent presence. For ROYAL STAR, I worked with the Converse team to reconstruct these models, using those memories as a guide while weaving in a modern sensibility and my own personal interpretation. I also feel that leather, as a material, is something special that records a person’s time as it is worn. That is why, as a maker, I felt it was important not to add too much, but to leave space for the wearer. I would be happy if these models, without forcing a statement, could become a part of the wearer, fitting into their life in the simplest of moments.
